An extremely pleasant bitter, straw coloured beer with a terrific fresh, hoppy aroma. This, coupled with an intense bitterness, leads to an excellent long, dry finish. Probably the beer to receive the most awards in Britain!

The mirror image of Rock Bitter, smooth and dark with a biscuity flavour. Back in the pre-war days this beer would have been on sale in virtually every one of the brewery's jug and bottle counter throughout the county and beyond.

First brewed by Nottingham Brewery in the 1800's as a refreshing quaffing ale for the thirsty factory workers in the city. Slightly paler than traditional bitter beers of the time it was the forerunner of the India Pale Ale for which the brewery was to become famous and transported thousands and thousands of gallons to the troops of the British Empire all around the globe.
